Syncopatience, The Mumbles' fourth studio record is funky, heartfelt, soulful; hopeful, introspective, and lyrically engaging. In short it is all things Mumbles.
Syncopatience, the Mumbles 4th studio record, is about love. Like all great romances, this album is a story; one that begins by finding love within yourself, and then moving outward, to the wide world around you. It deals with keeping love alive, and realizing that in order to sustain, we must also reinvent.
To that end, Syncopatience is the band's first with newest Mumble, Ejric Bernhardt, as well as the first studio album they've done in New Orleans. The local flavor is there, but no matter where these guys record, you know it's them: funky, heartfelt, soulful; hopeful, introspective, and lyrically engaging.
Syncopatience documents the trio, in rare form, doing what they do best: performing great music with grace, while putting unique twists on songs that sing themselves. It praises the spiritual life in music, the romantic life inside, and artist's life, which marries and documents both. Here, preparing is not the same as waiting, and things line up in their own time, in Syncopatience.
